Customers reap the benefits of ESAB's ISO 14001 certification

ESAB has achieved a group-wide certification for the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 14001. While many thousands of companies around the world have already achieved ISO 14001 certification somewhere, ESAB is one of very few global companies to have achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification everywhere. This is believed to be a world first for the welding and cutting industry.

"It is not just an academic issue", explains Stefan Larsson, Director of Sustainable Development at ESAB, "implementation of a global EMS, covering everything from design and development, production, sales and service worldwide, means that our customers are assured that every ESAB product is produced to the same environmental standard and that every step is taken to ensure that environmental impacts are minimized."

"This is very important if customers have, or are aiminig for, a certification to ISO 14001 themselves or if their environmental policy means they are pursuing similar goals. ESAB is committed to continuously reduce the negative environmental impacts from our products. "

ESAB has been at the forefront of environmental awareness in the welding and cutting industry for a number of years and in 1999, became the first supplier of welding and cutting products with an ISO 14001 certified production unit.
